Buddhadeb Sengupta has been residing in Bolpur for the past 40 years and is currently engaged with the Handicrafts Creative Association. He specializes in leather craft, where his passion and love for the art form has enabled him to acquire proficiency in the same. Buddhadeb's existence finds a renewed meaning by producing a range of innovative and trendy items out of leather. His products are infused with the aesthetic touch of rural heritage. Getting his training from various places such as District Industries Center, Birbhum and Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Buddhadeb is now practicing leather craft for around 25-26 years. Around 26 people work under him making varied products such as bags, purses, jewellery box and mobile covers made out of leather and others. The trendy and ethnic accessories and utilities made by Buddhadeb can be categorized as must have's in the list of fashionable necessities.
