Md. Hafiz Uddin

Hafiz Uddin has been residing in Sattore village of Birbhum district since his birth. Born and brought up in Birbhum, the cultural and artistic heritage of the place finds a special place in Hafiz Uddin's heart, who has been involved in pursuing a variety of skills like kantha stitch, batik work, block and applique work for more than two decades now. It is passion that drives his association to the varied artistic endeavors, which happens to be the indigenous treasure of Birbhum district. Being born in a family of artists, Hafiz Uddin has been pursuing his artistic interests since his very childhood. He has learnt the art forms from his parents. His artistic lineage has inspired him to take up a profession along creative lines. It has been 25 years, since Hafiz Uddin has started his handloom business. Acquiring proficiency in various art forms over the passage of time, at present he has established himself as a distinguished artist of his locality and employs around 50 local artists to work with him. Hafiz Uddin along with his team makes a wide variety of garments. Their products include fashionable sarees, kurta, dupatta, Panjabi, palazzo and others infused with the artistic flavour of rural Bengal.
