Manoyara Bibi has been a resident of Natungram since birth and from childhood has been closely associated with artistic endeavors. Residing in the rural neighborhoods of Bolpur, Manoyara runs her handicraft business independently. Being proficient in kantha stitch art form, Manoyara not only has established her artistic supremacy in her locality, but she also stands as an inspiration to hundreds of rural women, who dream of being self sufficient. Manoyara never acquired any formal training in kantha stitch and with the passage of time has mastered the art form by observing the creations of local artists. She is also a distinguished member of 'Charulata', a welfare organization operative in the area for the betterment of Birbhum-based artists. With an experience of over 14 years, at present Manoyara Bibi employs around 100 people under her. together with her unit, she creates embroidered sarees, dupattas and bed covers. Her work is very distinctive with a special emphasis on tassar sarees which are designed very meticulously with grace.
