Mita Das is an experienced, efficient 50 years old Gujrati kantha artist belonging from Bolpur. Kantha stitch has been Mita's passion since her very childhood. Being a proud student of Kala Bhavan, from the epitome of art and cultural institute of Biswa Bharati, Mita's flawless skills have produced a multitude of artistic pieces in kantha stitch. Due to her famous intricate kantha stitch designs, she shares a good bond with many renowned personality at personal level. Mita has been practicing kantha stitch professionally for more than three decades now and have mastered the art with the passage of time. She creates a lot of trendy items in kantha stitch including Punjabi, salwar-kameez suit pieces, sarees etc. She employs 60 local kantha stitch artists to assist her in her artistic endeavors.
