Anandamohon Ghosh

Anandamohon has been a resident of Ilambazar in Birbhum for more than three decades now. Kantha Stitch accounts to be Anandamohon's primary skill, which he has learnt from Biswa Bharati's Shilpa Sadan. To give a professional shape to his passion for kantha stitch art form, Anandamohon has acquired a diploma from Biswa Bharati University in textile designing. His passion for the art form, coupled with his formal knowledge regarding the same has enabled Anandamohon to establish his aesthetic supremacy and command a distinguished status as a kantha artist in his locality. Anandamohon has been practicing kantha stitch for the past 25 years and at present he has employed around three hundred local women under him, proficient in stitching and tailoring. Together with his unit, Anandamohon supervises the production of a vast variety of kantha stitched garments. His products include fashionable kantha stitched garments for men and women, which include saree, dupatta, stole, blouse piece, churidar, top, wrapper. and other varied sorts of ethnic outfits.
