Amitayu Mukherjee
Amitayu has been residing in Bhuvandanga for almost a decade now. Kantha stitch and batik work account to be Amitayu's primary skill, which he has learnt by observing the intricate works of neighbouring artists. Amitayu's flawless artistic skills have made him a distinguished artist in his locality and have also contributed in making him a prominent member of welfare organizations for craft practitioners like Charulata and Bangasree. Amitayu has been pursuing his handicraft business for the past 15 years and at present he has employed around five hundred artisans under him, proficient in kantha stitching and batik work. Together with his unit, Amitayu supervises the production of a vast variety of handicraft garments ranging from sarees, readymade kurtas, panjabis to dupatta, stole and other fashionable ethnic outfits.
